1:00 Update

The nurse stopped by a little after 1 with news that they put the band around the valve and everything was going well. I'm not sure what exactly the band around the valve means, but it's part of the repair. She will be back again, probably after 3 with another update. Hopefully at that point they will be wrapping up.

He is off the bypass machine, they are examining the valve. There is a little leak so another doctor is looking at it to determine whether they need to do something different or replace it somehow. But right now his heart is beating on it's own, they just want to make sure it's all done correctly.

She will be back again at 3 when her shift ends to tell us exactly what is up and what the doctors have decided.
